The Woodlands program (ages 5-10) have outings called Hit the Trails. These outings are designed to build the awareness of the Woodlands Trailman to the world around him. The outings will be away from our meeting place.
If a parent wants to attend they are welcome, but they must first become a registered adult. There is more information about registered adult at this link.
We encourage parents to attend the Hit the Trails with their Trailman sons. A parents (especially dads) input into their son's life is crucial for his development. Even if a dad doesn't have much experience with the event planned, just his presence and encouragement makes a huge impact. The time dads will spend at the outings is focused and will reap benefits in his relationship with his son well into the future.
For a parent or guardian of a Trailman to attend overnight outings they will need to become a registered adult.
That process is called becoming a Registered Adult (more information at this link).
Part of your Trailman's growth comes through character development. The best way to develop his character is to put him into situations that challenge him to grow.Â
Based upon experience, Trail Life and Troop 711 both agree that these challenges come about when your Trailman is put in an outdoor environment where he needs to learn how to provide for himself and others. To give him the opportunity to grow, we aim to camp at least once a month during our program year.
We encourage dads to attend the campouts with their sons. A fathers input into his son's life is crucial for his development. Even if a dad doesn't have much experience with outdoor skills, just his presence makes a huge impact. The time dads will spend at the outings is focused and will reap benefits in his relationship with his son well into the future.
For a male parent or guardian of a Trailman to attend overnight outings they will need to become a registered adult.
That process is called becoming a Registered Adult (more information at this link).
